ABW’s Independence Day special trek From Matheran to Garbett point on 15th August 2014





Hello Wanderers,
We are glad to invite you for one day trek from Garbett point to Matheran on 2nd October 2013.

Grade: Easy

General information: Matheran is located on the Western Ghats range at an elevation of around 2,625 feet. Matheran was discovered by Hugh Poyntz Malet, the then district collector of Thane district in May 1850. Garbett point is located on south-east side of Matheran with grand view of the plateau below. We will start trek from beautiful Garbett point and walk trail till Matheran.
Meeting Point:
Neral railway station at 07:54 AM 
Catch the Fast local train for Karjat.
For your convenience Karjat train timings are as follows:

  • 06:16 am : CST
  • 06:23 am : Byculla
  • 06:30 am : Dadar
  • 06:37 am : Kurla
  • 06:41 am : Ghatkopar
  • 06:56 am : Thane
  • 07:08 am : Dombivali
  • 07:16 am : Kalyan
  • 07:54 am : Neral
Expenses:
Rs 500 per person which includes
  • Breakfast
  • Traveling from Neral Station to Matheran
NOTE: Please carry packed lunch for the day.

  • Please carry windcheater.
  • Packed lunch for the day.
  • A Water Bottle ( at least 2 Ltrs)
  • Camera, Cell Phone, Cap(Optional, wrap it in plastic, water proof protection)
  • Please avoid wearing Gold and other ornaments.
