ABW's Lingana climbing event on 15th-16th February 2014

Hello Wanderers,
If your rock climbing enthusiastic and waiting for opportunity, then here is one!!!

Only 15 participants and last date of registration is 10th February 2014.

General Information:
Lingana is a massive pinnacle on the mainline of the Sahyadris between Raigad and Torna. It takes its name from its shape which is like a linga. It is 2969 feet.
Lingana fort was built by Shivaji in 1648 to secure central Konkan against the Sidis. Under the Marathas, Lingana was used as a penal settlement. The prisoners were confined to rock dungeons with one dungeon holding 50 prisoners.


Grade:  Difficult

Meeting Point:
Panvel ST depot at 12 AM 15th February 2014 (Friday midnight).
 

Expenses:

Rs 2500 /- per head which includes

• Commuting cost to base village from Panvel.
• 2 breakfasts, 1 Dinner and 1 Lunch.
• Complete support of our team with all rock climbing gears and equipments.

(Please carry packed Lunch for the first day.)

Things to Carry:

• Please wear Good trekking/sport shoes.
• Some light weight bedding/sleeping bag for night.
• Good quality torch (MUST)
• A Water Bottle ( at least 3 Liters MUST).
• Camera, Cell Phone, Cap(Optional).
• Please avoid wearing Gold and other ornaments.
• Medicine those if you require usually (Optional)
