Hello Wanderers,
Aberrant Wanderers is going to have series of treks to unconversant forts. We are glad to invite you first trek of this series, Trek to Mrugagad on the 10th of February 2013.
General information:
Mrugagad is a small and kind of unconversant fort. Entire fort can be explored around in one hour. On the way to the top, there is cave which is bit difficult to ascend. There are some water tanks and a small pond on the fort. There are some water tanks on the summit. We can find some remnants of old houses. Since Umbarkhind and Waghdari can be seen from the top, it was used to keep a watch on these areas and surrouding villages.
Trek Itinerary:
- 08:00 am : Meeting at Karjat station (Please Catch fast local to Karjat leaving from CST 06.16 AM.)
- 08:15 am : catch local train to khopoli
- 08.45 am : Start moving to base village-parali by private vehicle.
- 10:00 am : Reach Base.
- 10:15 am : Start Trek.
- 12:00 pm : Reach top of the fort. Exploration and Lunch.
- 01.00 pm : Strt desending down.
- 02.00 pm : Reach base.
- 03.30 pm : Back to khopoli
- 06.30 pm : Mumbai
6.16: CSTM

6.37: Kurla
6.41: ghatkopar
6.56: Thane
7.16: Kalyan
8.10: Karjat
Expenses:
Rs 250/- per head which includes travelling from Khopoli to Khopoli , breakfast and evening tea.
